Maya Hu-Chan is an international management consultant, executive coach, and author. She is voted World’s Top 30 Leadership Gurus in 2013 and rated the Top 100 Thought Leaders in Management & Leadership (2008-2011). Since 1988, Maya has worked closely with Marshall Goldsmith as his business partner and co-author. She is a Master Certified Coach of Stakeholder Centered Coaching by Marshall Goldsmith and leads the coaching certification programs in Great China.
Prior to her consulting career, Maya was an anchor at the China Broadcasting Company in Taiwan, and the CEO of a non-profit organization in San Diego, California. She has lectured at the Brookings Institution, University of California San Diego, University of Southern California, Penn State University, and International MBA Program at University of Chicago.
Born and raised in Taiwan and living in the USA, Maya is fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese. Maya earned her B.A. in Journalism from National Chengchi University in Taiwan, and Master’s degree in communications from University of Pennsylvania.
Maya specializes in global leadership and cross-cultural business skills. She has trained and coached thousands of leaders in “Global Fortune 500” companies worldwide. She has worked extensively in China, India, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Korea, Japan and Australia, helping global organizations develop their leaders at all levels as well as their teams.
Harvard Business School has chosen her book “Global Leadership: The Next Generation” to be one of their Working Knowledge recommended books. She is also a contributing author of 10 Business and Leadership books.
Maya is a frequent contributor and interviewee to a wide range of business publications and media, including BusinessWeek, Harvard Business Online, Bloomberg, OD Practitioner, Leadership Excellence, Business Coaching Worldwide, SmartBrief on Leadership, Voice America’s Insight on Coaching and Asia Media. She is also a regular conference speaker.
