Marta has lived and worked in Spain for more than 30 years. Fully bi-lingual, she is a recognized leader in executive coaching and global business. Through her close collaboration with Marshall, Marta has specialized in leadership coaching in Spain and Europe where she continues to extend her proven track-record of coaching C-Level leaders. During a recent coaching engagement Marta supported a Global 500 company executive to not only be results-oriented leading a virtual global 50 person team, but to assure that each member grew substantially as a leader. Marta’s deep affection for people and kind, but insistent demand for consistent effort transforms executive’s personal lives and professional effectiveness.
Prior to coaching, Marta was a ground-breaking print and broadcast journalist. She was part of the original team starting the newspaper EL PAIS and, together with Robert Trout, ran the abcNews-Madrid Bureau for several years. This unique background provides Marta with a powerful perspective on leadership presence and effective leadership communication skills. Concurrent with her work in journalism, in 1988, Marta was selected by Marshall Goldsmith to coach executives at American Express. This led to her become a pioneer in the field of executive coaching and leadership development as she brought Marshall’s most effective coaching methodology to Europe in 1990. Since then, Marta coached hundreds of executives in national and multinational companies such as: American Express, Diageo, Disney, KPMG, Maersk, Microsoft, Siemens, Sylvania, Telefonica, and Unilever—to name a few. Motivated to raise up the next generation of leaders and coaches, she was instrumental in establishing Spain’s first executive coach training organization.
